Graffiti artist David Choe is now being labeled as the new $200 million dollar artist. All for a smart business transaction which occurred back in 2005. At that time, Choe was commissioned by then-Facebook president Sean Parker to paint several murals on the walls inside Facebook’s first offices in Palo Alto, CA. In lieu of a payment of “thousands of dollars,” Choe accepted a comparable amount of shares of the popular social networking site. Now, with the news that Facebook stock will begin trading publicly, the worth of those shares has been valued at approximately $200 million. We are excited to see what Choe will do next, since even before he was a rich man he was pushing boundaries and completely putting himself out there with projects like his book, simply entitled “David Choe”, and a feature documentary called “Dirty Hands – The Art and Crimes of David Choe”.
